Samuel Tate is a mixed reality experience designer. He has developed interfaces and experiences for AR marketing campaigns, VR haptic feedback gloves and arcade games. He experiments with new input and display technologies and frameworks and is working independently on creating cinematic VR experiences.
His work comes from a place of strong concept development and ideation. Every line of code, vector and plane needs to be added intentionally, always asking - what experience is this creating for the user? With the advent of mixed reality, we are creating new worlds to inhabit, his process means they're both enjoyable, and purposeful.
He was a founding employee of CoinJar, Experience Director for Contact Controller Interfaces, and Head of Experience Design for Tesseract. He occasionally writes for VICE on politics and technology, and publishes short stories when he can find the time.
